Meath County Council is opening a process of non-statutory public consultation on Friday 13th of September 2024 around proposed Traffic Calming Measures for the R162 at Wilkinstown, Co. Meath.
These proposed works are in the interest of the safety and convenience of road users, in accordance with Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (as amended).
The proposed development, which is the subject of this Section 38 notice will include the following:
Provision of new kerbs within the extent of the works.
Provision of new pedestrian footpaths.
Provision of junction definition to improve sightlines
Provision of concrete island’s and gateway entry definition
Provision of appropriate traffic signs and road markings.
Provision of new drainage within the extents of the scheme
In advance of finalising these proposed traffic calming measures, we wish to consult with the public. If members of local communities, cyclists, pedestrians and other road users, interested individuals or groups, have any comments in relation to the proposed design, we will certainly consider those when developing the “Detailed Design”, which will be subject to funding.
Drawings and particulars indicating the proposals are available for inspection at the offices of Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co. Meath, C15 Y291 and the Kells Municipal District office during normal offices hours from Friday the 13th September to Thursday the 10th October 2024 inclusive.
