As a young Parent, a play ground would greatly benefit the village. Currently the nearest playground is in Lobinstown while most people use the facilities in Ardee. These parents would also spend money in Ardee while using the playground there, through shopping and parking that otherwise would be used in Drumconrath. If there was a playground at the community centre it would encourage more people into the village while also be a huge benefit the health of young people. The area would be safe for parents and children to walk to.
The extension of the footpath on Birdhill to the football pitch is a must, as it would allow people to safely walk to the pitch and use the running track and football pitch safely. Already Drumconrath CLG has invested a lot of time and money to make the facilities available to the public and this footpath extension would further enhance their efforts.
A safer crossing section at the village at Muldoons shops would join up the the faculties and allow pedestrians cross safely from the proposed playground and the football pitch. Also residents in DeValera Park would benefit and have safer access to the village.
