As a resident of Ashbourne since 1976 I shocked and saddened that I have to publicly offer support for and to ask public officials to supply a public amenity to the long neglected people of Ashbourne deserve. The recent Covid 19 lockdown more than amply demonstrated the lack of public space in this area , it was an insult and embarrassment to the residents of Ashbourne as we exercised while complying with Government Regulations as the only amenity provided by Meath County Council was public footpaths.

I find it hard to understand that professional planners and officials who take a long term view of the needs of the residents of Ashbourne could consider granting planning permission for houses in this tract of land. This offers the best access to the public park for the majority of the people of Ashbourne , also it is and ideal & safe corridor for the adjasent schools .
