My wife and I live in [Redacted_Personal Information] and would like to be part of the decision for what happens in our local community
The current lands (80 acres) identified for rezoning as public greenspace are perfect, this is a golden opportunity for our town. The park would be situated within 1.5km walking distance from almost all of the houses in the town, it would transform Ashbourne and reap rewards in multiple areas of life - personal, health, community and business.
These amendments will back up all the amazing work done for the use of greenspaces that has already been done in the area.
After COVID-19 and multiple lockdowns, this has highlighted the severe need to have better greenspace within 5km. Following, the restrictions this highlighted how badly served Ashbourne is regarding open and publicly accessible greenspace. Independent research conducted by Future Analytics determined that the town needs a minimum of 80 acres to address the historical and current shortfall in public greenspace.
Finally, the park that is part of the other chapters of this development plan needs an entrance and the allocation of this land will mean that the park will get the entrance it deserves.
