We have recently bought a house and moved to Ashbourne. One of the reasons that we love it here is that all amenities in the town are located within walking distance. However there is one important amenity missing - the park.
We fully support Proposed Ashbourne Amendment No. 7 to rezone 80 acra of land next to Churchfields as public greenspace. These lands are perfect, this is a golden opportunity for our town. The park would be situated within 1.5 KM walking distance from almost all of the houses in the town. Ashbourne is a town growing so fast, its already second largest town in co. Meath and minimum of 80 acra park is necessary. There are so many kids in the town and they need a place to play. Residents need a place to walk and relax after work. There is not enough playgrounds for kids and they play on the streets. Park would improve quality of live in the town and is so much needed. Golf and Gaa clubs are not publicly accesible spaces and cant replace the park.
