Proposed Ashbourne Amendment No. 7
Proposed Ashbourne Amendment No. 8

Ashbourne is in desperate need of a decent park for people to walk and play in. The last year has shown how we have no options nearby to bring kids to, or for adults to walk and enjoy nature. Time and again people asked the question "where can I go for exercise within 5km?" The answer - the car park at Ashbourne retail park! Or do laps around the green at the community centre. It's simply not good enough.

we have an excellent opportunity to develop a park that is within reach of everyone in Ashbourne. The obvious entrance is the lands at the start of Churchfields behind the Killegland graveyard. The recent planning application to build houses there instead would be a huge mistake and a wasted opportunity.  The town would benefit so much more from a park than from more houses at that point.
There are other sites that could be used for housing but this location would make the perfect entrance for the park - it is within easy reach for everyone in the town.

This is badly needed for all the residents of Ashbourne and would benefit the entire community. We shouldn't have to bring our kids to a car park for exercise, they deserve better!  [Redacted_Personal Information] gifted these lands to the church, for the community, is there any doubt whether he would have done so if he'd known they'd be sold to build more houses there when they could have been used to facilitate a park instead?
