Road Traffic Acts, 1961 – 2014
R-162 Poles Cross, Lisnagrow, Co. Meath.
(Provision of traffic calming measures on the R-162 Poles Cross)
Meath County Council, in the exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, hereby gives notice that it has prepared a scheme to provide traffic calming on the R162 at Poles Cross, Lisnagrow, Co. Meath.
These proposed works are in the interest of the safety and convenience of Boyne Valley to Lakelands Greenway users and road users in accordance with Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994 (as amended).
This Scheme provides for:
Provision of 150m of new kerb lines on both sides of the carriageway, including dropped kerbs at pedestrian/vehicular entrances, to reduce the overall carriageway width,
Upgrade the existing Greenway access points to enhance footway links at the road crossing point, and to ensure suitable road sightlines for pedestrian safety at the Greenway crossing points while crossing to R-162,
Provision of a new 20m footpath linking the Greenway to the Crystal Maze leisure facility,
Provision of appropriate traffic signs, road markings, and vehicle-activated signage. (VAS)
