NAVAN AREA BASED TRASNPORT ASESSEMENT - SURVEY

Meath County Council are developing a Local Transport Plan (LTP) for Navan to support the town’s sustainable growth into the future. We would like your feedback on the current transport offerings in the town to help understand where things are working well, and where improvements need to be made.

Meath County Council want to hear from all parts of the community and have provided a survey to ask you questions about yourself, but nothing identifiable, your travel habits in Navan, and what you think works well and what should be improved. As part of this, we would like to hear how residents, students, workers and visitors currently travel to and around Navan, and what people think would make travel easier in the town, including journeys made by foot, bike, public transport and by car.

It should take you approximately 10 minutes to complete and you can make a response up to and including 12/07/2024. You must be aged 16 or older to complete this survey and all responses are anonymous. Following the questionnaire, there is a map-based survey to allow more specific comments to be made.

The questionnaire may be accessed online by clicking here

A little more information…

The Local Transport Plan is being developed to support the Navan Local Area Plan, which sets out how the town will develop in the immediate and medium term. This process is a requirement under national legislation and is planned to be completed in 2025.

The Local Transport Plan will be developed through the Area Based Transport Assessment (ABTA) process, a process set out by the National Transport Authority (NTA) to ensure a consistent approach nationwide. This process has already been completed in other towns like Athlone, Clonmel, Nenagh and Tipperary.

Responses will be used to develop transport options for Navan in line with National, Regional and Local policy, in particular the National Investment Framework for Transport in Ireland (NIFTI) Modal Hierarchy and Intervention Hierarchy.

SYSTRA Ltd., a transport consultancy, are supporting Meath County Council in the development of the LTP and will independently analyse and report on the findings of this survey.

All survey responses are confidential, and results will be reported anonymously. The research complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation. You do not need to share any personal information in this survey.

Thank you in advance for your interest in participating in this exciting study.
