Proposed works on the Skreen Road (L1003) from Obertstown Cross  to Skreen GFC, Co. Meath under Section 38 ‘Traffic Calming Measures’ of the Roads Traffic Act 1994, as amended

Provision of Traffic Calming Measures on the L1003 public road in the townland of Skreen and Obertstown, Co. Meath.

 Meath County Council, in the exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, hereby gives notice that it has prepared a scheme to provide traffic calming measures on the Skreen Road(L1003) in the townlands of Skreen and Obertstown, Co. Meath.

The proposed works are in the interest of public safety and convenience of pedestrians. This scheme provides for:

  • Provision of new footpath (approximately 600m long and 1.8m wide) from Obertstown Cross (‘Swans’) to Skryne GFC , Co. Meath.
  • Provision of a pedestrian crossing on the northside of Oberstown Cross and at the crossroad of the L1003-L5001.
  • Provision of new and upgraded road markings, drainage, signage and other ancillary works

The plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection online at https://consult.meath.ie/ from Tuesday 16th June to Tuesday 30th June 2026.

Observations in relation to the proposed works, may be made on or before Tuesday 30th June 2026 as follows:
