Provision of Traffic Calming Measures on the Howthstown Road (L5600-18) and the Bigstown Road (L5600-27) public roads in the townland of Bigstown and Creevagh, Co. Meath.
Meath County Council, in the exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, hereby gives notice that it has prepared a scheme to provide traffic calming measures on the Howthstown Road (L5600-18) and the Bigstown Road (L5600-27) in the townlands of Bigstown and Creevagh, Co. Meath.
The proposed works are in the interest of public safety and convenience of pedestrians. This scheme provides for:
Provision of new footpath (approximately 200m long and 1.8m wide) on the Howthstown Road (L5600-18) and the Bigstown Road (L5600-27) public roads from Newtown Estate to Newtown National School
Safety improvement works to the junction of the Bigstown Road(L5600)-Greenhills Road(L56001)
Provision of new and upgraded road markings, drainage, signage and other ancillary works
The plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection online at https://consult.meath.ie/ from Tuesday 16th June to Tuesday 30th June 2026.
Observations in relation to the proposed works, may be made on or before Tuesday 30th June 2026 as follows:
