Draft Bye-Laws for Waste Management (Storage, Presentation and Segregation of Household and Commercial Waste)

Local Government Act 2001 - Part 19 and Section 199(1) Waste Management Act 1966 - Section 35(1)

Notice is hereby given that Meath County Council pursuant to Section 35(1) of the Waste Management Act 1996 and Section 199(1) of the Local Government Act 2001 and in accordance with Part 19 of the Local Government Act 2001 proposes to make new Bye-Laws to regulate and control the Storage, Presentation and Segregation of Household and Commercial Waste within its functional area. It is proposed to make provision in the Bye-Laws for the imposition of a fixed payment of €75 in respect of a contravention of a Bye-Law as an alternative to a prosecution, as provided for in Section 206 of the Local Government Act 2001.

The Draft Bye-Laws are available for inspection at: Meath County Council Offices, Buvinda House Navan  from Wed 4th July 2018 until Friday 24th August 2018, between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm Monday to Friday.

A copy of the draft Bye-Laws may also be downloaded free of charge from here.

They are also available for inspection at Meath County Council Public Libraries (during normal opening hours).

 

Submissions can be made on line via https://consult.meath.ie/en/browse and the Council will consider any submissions made by Friday 31st August 2018.

 

All submissions must include the name and address of the person/organisation making the submission.
