Provision of Traffic Calming Measures on the ‘Downstown Road’ (L5609) public road in the townlands of Commons and Downstown, Duleek, Co. Meath.

 

Meath County Council, in the exercise of the powers conferred on it under Section 38 of the Road Traffic Act 1994, hereby gives notice that it has prepared a scheme to provide traffic calming measures on the Downstown Road (L5609) in the townlands of Commons and Downstown, Duleek, Co. Meath.

These proposed works are in the interest of public safety and convenience of pedestrians on the Downstown Road (L5609), Duleek, Co. Meath. This scheme provides for:

  • Provision of new footpath from the end of existing footpath to the entrance of Silverstream Nursing Home
  • Provision of new and upgraded road markings, drainage, signage, public lighting and other ancillary works

The plans and particulars of the proposed scheme will be available for inspection online at https://consult.meath.ie/ from Wednesday 28th January to Thursday 12th February 2026.

Observations in relation to the proposed works, may be made on or before Thursday 12th February 2026 as follows:
(1) by emailing to activetravel@meathcoco.ie  with the “Observation on Proposed Traffic Calming Measures at Downstown Road, Duleek” in the subject line, or
(2) via the submissions facility on the https://consult.meath.ie/.
