Re:             · Material Amendments to Draft Meath County Development Plan 2021-2027

· Master Plan 2 to facilitate the development of lands between Portan, Clonee and Bracetown for the Dunboyne, Clonee, and Pace settlement.

I am a resident of the  [Redacted_Personal Information], I am making a submission due to particular concerns regarding the Draft Meath County Development Plan 2021-2027

My specific concerns pertain to the proposed distributor road suggested in the Draft Meath County Development Plan 2021-2027, and as also suggested in Proposed Dunboyne/ Clonee/ Pace Amendment No. 5,

In section 5.2 of the Land Use Strategy it explains that the proposed distributor road “…will provide an access to the remainder of the employment lands in this Master Plan area, which will enhance the attractiveness of these lands for economic investment due to the improved connectivity.”

My submission is that the Development Plan is amended to remove the requirement for this distributor road for the following reasons:

Most of the land zoned for development has already been acquired and developed by a single entity, Facebook, which has developed their own site access and therefore this route is no longer required.

The proposed distributor road would filter traffic to the Kilbride Road for traffic destined to the work areas in Dublin 15 and further afield. This route is not in any way fit for purpose as a main thoroughfare and is extremely dangerous as it currently is without this added traffic.

I am also seeking confirmation that this proposed distributor road is not a pre-cursor to any further road amendments in the area, specifically regarding the existing Kilbride Road access to Clonee village. This access is critical for the residents in this area and I am therefore seeking confirmation that this route will remain for public use and access in perpetuity.
