With the size of population Ashbourne is severely lacking in public open space for health and mental well-being. This location is ideally suitable for this being close to the town and residential areas, which will promote its use. The previous analysis completed 6 years ago is still valid and the analysis should not be required to be repeated. Once purchased this will then release additional funding to support the development. This is the perfect opportunity to enrich the environment for Ashbourne residents and further afield with this green space. Keeping connection to the community is key and providing an entrance through Churchfields estate will facilitate this.
