Ashbourne Wheelers Cycling Club
Ashbourne Wheelers CC would like to the support the creation of the proposed 80 acres park beside Churchfields and garden city (killegland farm).
From a cycling club perspective the benefit are the following
- An open space for health and social activities and the benefits associated with same.
- The creation of a safe space for children and youth to play without road traffic.
- A safe space where children youth and adults can learn to cycle without the dangers of road traffic. (Ashbourne currently does not have anywhere large enough for this to occur)
- A safe space where children youth and adults can learn and practice how to cycle on a road with traffic prior to going onto the road (Ashbourne currently does not have anywhere large enough for this to occur)
- Based on the growing population in Ashbourne and the surrounding areas a large is needed in this area.
- We would also suggest a bike track/ bike park be placed within the proposed park
- We believe a large park is vital to the community of Ashbourne.
