Ashbourne
The 80 acre park, voted on unanimously by 40 councillors in January 2021 needs an entrance... This site has been identified as the most appropriate for access for residents of Ashbourne. It is within 1.5km of most houses in Ashbourne - making it accessible by foot, bike, wheelchair, buggy etc. And less than 1.5km from Ashbourne town centre. It is easily accessible by local schools, community groups - young & old.
These lands were gifted by local resident [Redacted_Personal Information], to the Church, to benefit the local residents. They have lied idle for many years... Adding a further 31 housing units, so close to Churchfields and Bourne View could be detrimental and will create further bottle necks, potential flooding issues etc.
I feel that changing this land use to residential, would be a big mistake and would not have the well being of Ashbourne residents at heart and future mental and physical health would be badly affected, by not having a central access point. I also think having an entrance so close to the town centre could reap massive benefits commercially to local businesses, which would impact on the County as whole, within increased rates and revenue generated.
