MEATH COUNTY COUNCIL NON-STATUTORY PUBLIC CONSULTATION
COMMONS OF LLOYD – RECREATION AND AMENITY PLAN
Meath County Council has prepared a Draft Recreation and Amenity Plan for the Commons of Lloyd, Kells, County Meath. The purpose of this Draft Plan is to provide a blueprint for the future use of the Commons of Lloyd, protecting its heritage and environmental qualities whilst making it a more attractive and sustainable destination for the enjoyment of all.
The Draft Plan provides a comprehensive layout for potential future recreational and amenity facilities at the Commons of Lloyd, whilst respecting its intrinsic landscape and historical character. The aim of the plan is to enable Meath County Council and the local community to realise their aspirations for the enhancement of the Commons of Lloyd.
The Draft Plan will be available for inspection from Thursday 20 August to 4pm Thursday 10 September 2026 online at https://consult.meath.ie/ and also at the following locations (during normal opening hours):
Kells Municipal District, Town Hall, Headfort Place, Kells, A82 W2R3
Making a Non-Statutory Submission
Non-statutory submissions can be made on the Draft Commons of Lloyd Recreation and Amenity Plan by ONE medium only i.e. online or hard copy and made as follows:
In writing marked “Draft Commons of Lloyd Recreation and Amenity Plan” and submitted to: Senior Executive Officer, Planning Department, Meath County Council, Buvinda House, Dublin Road, Navan, Co. Meath, C15 Y291
Non-Statutory submissions must include the full name and address of the person(s) making the submission and where relevant, the body or organisation represented. Please note that submissions received by Meath County Council will be available for public viewing on the Council’s consultation portal and website, when compliant under General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Non-statutory submissions must be received by 4pm on Thursday 10 September 2026.
Late or emailed non-statutory submissions will be considered as invalid and cannot be accepted.
All submissions received during the above time period will be taken into consideration before the making of the final Public Realm Plan.
